This week we caught up with Jamie Harris, a hair extensionist in Kinver and he revealed why he loves working with Great Lengths…
Tell us about you and your experience in the industry…
I’m currently the owner of Jamie Hair, in Kinver and I spilt my time between working in the salon, freelancing at photo shoots and writing the hair expert column in Curva Magazine. Throughout my career I have been lucky enough to learn from some amazing hairdressers and fantastic brands. My qualifications include diplomas in advanced colour correction, men’s hair cutting and women’s cutting design.
What made you get into working with pre-bonded hair extensions?
I believe in using the best quality products available and this is why I chose to work with Great Lengths. In my experience, I have never found another hair extension brand that offers the same amazing colour choice, great quality hair and versatility for clients.
Why do you think so many people are now choosing hair extensions to enhance their hair?
People want to avoid harsh colouring and damaging their hair. Great Lengths can provide quick transformations and once removed hair is left in its natural state, with no damage.
For those readers who are yet to try Great Lengths but have always wanted to make more of their hair, what would your advice be?
Find a hair extension specialist you trust. Book a free consultation and use this opportunity to talk through the options, see examples and ask any questions you may have about hair extensions.
What’s the most common question you get asked about extensions?
The most common questions are about damage and longevity. If Great Lengths hair extensions are applied and removed by a professional there will be no hair damage and the longevity depends on how the client looks after the hair. We provide a large range of aftercare products to ensure your hair extensions look their best for as long as possible.
What do you think the next trend in hair extensions will be?
For spring, I think many clients will be requesting shorter hairstyles but with thicker shape for example the lob (long bob). Then for summer I think clients will be requesting longer styles to create trend boho and festival glam looks.
What has been your favourite Great Lengths transformation?
For me it has to be one of my clients who lost her hair to chemotherapy. After waiting for the outline time period set by Great Lengths and testing the application, I was able to achieve a stunning transformation that moved the lady to tears. Her reaction touched me – I was able to give someone confidence, happiness and make her feel amazing.
