This week at Great Lengths HQ, we were lucky enough to catch up with Tracy Roche, a freelance hair extension and style specialist at Wills and Parker, about why she loves to use our pre-bonded extensions…
Tell us about you and your experience in the industry
I’m currently a freelance stylist at Wills and Parker, which is a stylish and contemporary hair and beauty salon in the beautiful town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. We have a strong focus on team education to ensure exceptional quality and customer service is always delivered.
I have been a NVQ3 level stylist for several years and specialise in Great Length hair extensions, advanced colour, colour correction and permanent hair straightening. Since qualifying with Great Lengths in 2003, I tend to spend half of my working week in the salon with hair extension clients. I am now proud to say I have achieved a Gold Status in 2014, and was a finalist for the Fastrack, Bridal and Gold Salon categories at the Great Lengths Awards 2014/15.
What made you get into working with pre-bonded hair extensions?
I love learning new techniques and like to constantly push the boundaries with the latest in hair technology. When I started using Great Lengths, I wanted to use extensions to completely transform clients rather than just add length. I enjoy working with pre-bonded hair extensions as they provide so much diversity when styling hair.
Why do you think so many people are now choosing hair extensions to enhance their hair?
I think many clients are now opting for hair extensions because they can provide amazing transformations within an hour. They can add colour, volume or even totally change a style.
For those readers who are yet to try Great Lengths but have always wanted to make more of their hair, what would your advice be?
Give them a go, you will never look back! Great Lengths are brilliant. I have tried a fair few brands and I cannot find anything I like as much.
What’s the most common question you get asked about extensions?
Many clients ask me if extensions will damage their hair. The answer is no, so long as they are applied by an experienced professional and removed by one then there is no risk involved.
What do you think the next trend in hair extensions will be?
The trend this season without a doubt will be mimicking celeb styles, as seen on shows like Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor. I’ve noticed that the demand for hair extensions always gets busier when Cheryl is on the TV!
What has been your favourite Great Lengths transformation?
I don’t have a favourite transformation. My biggest thrill overall is making women feel and look fantastic and giving them an amazing confidence boost. It’s always great when they recommend their friends come to me too. I just love seeing the difference from before and afters.
