Update
As well as being a great treat for all who sampled April's Cake Bake delights, we are pleased to announce that the Great Lengths culinary Tour de Force raised a respectable £70 for charity. Thanks to all who whipped up a storm in the kitchen and to Julie for organising the charitable event.
May's Pretty Pets Competition saw hearts melt as the cutest competitors in the animal kingdom were submitted for scrutiny by Simon at Bardsey Mills. The eventual winner emerged as Amanda's Boxer dog, Bailey, whose puppy dog eyes and gorgeous good looks proved irresistible to all who gazed upon him. Thanks to Cornelia and all the participants' adorable animals, Pretty Pets raised a further £23 to add to the charity coffers.
The sun shone on race day, as did the joggers taking part in June's Race 4 Life 5k Run at Temple Newsom, Leeds. Great Lengths' own Tracey & daughter Claire were pretty in pink for the day, resplendent in pink Great Lengths' CRUK t-shirts, as they jogged up and over the big hill and past the finish line in under an hour. Stopping only to photograph their achievements, Tracey and Claire completed the charitable race and in the process raised an impressive £177 for Cancer Research UK.
Despite the lack of sun, sea, surf or sangria, that didn't stop Great Lengths' Beach Party. For a small donation to CRUK, the team donned their sandals, shorts and swimwear and were served with Summer snacks whilst the 'Best Beach' photo competition took place.Voted Best Beach was Philip's Mexican oasis of golden sands adorned with perfect palms. Money raised from the Beach Party will take us to over 50% of our target.
Leeds 10k – Phil, Karla, Emma, Matt, Corny, Pete, Amy & Chris – Sunday 4th July 2010
Determined to succeed and with what can only be summarised as little training, we jogged our way round Leeds City Centre early Sunday morning with 11,000 other Jane Tomlinson Run For All charity goers
Chris suffered a serious foot injury whilst training earlier in the week but put a brave face on it and set a blistering pace with pro-Marathon runner Amy. Phil, Corny, Emma and partners met up during the race to keep each other going.

The success of April's Cake Sale was followed up by another highly-anticipated August Cake Sale & Book Sale. The tantalising treats tempted passing diners and ultimately raised a further £86 for charity. Thanks to Carol for organising.
