Autumn/Winter 2015 Catwalk Hair Trends

After seasons of vintage-inspired styles and low ponytails, a grown-up but yet youthful take on hair is here for Autumn/Winter 2015. Prepare yourselves for slicked-back styles; fresh spins on the up-do; and wind-swept waves…

Sweeping Side Partings

This trend has been around for a little while, but for A/W2015 it has moved in a more sophisticated direction. As spotted at Donna Karan, hair is swept back neatly and the side parting is placed for just a few inches from the forehead, before it disappears. The result is a gorgeously groomed look.

The New Hair Up

Forget low ponytails and messy buns, there is a new kid in town – the topknot pony-chignon as spotted at Prada. Hairstylist Guido Palau began by pulling the hair into a very hair pony. He then allowed the lengths to fall to one side of the head. The tail was the secured against the head with a jewelled clip. The finished look is elegant but fun, and a great way to integrate covetable accessories into your style.

Wind-Swept Waves

As 70’s inspired fashion trends return, so do 70’s inspired hair trends. Fortunately, classic Farrah Fawcett style ‘big flick’ waves have moved on a bit! For A/W 2015 Roberto Cavalli dressed models’ hair with gorgeous tousled and textured waves that looked a little wind-swept. The beauty of this look is that it is still elegant, just a little more casual.
