September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and we’re extremely proud to announce that over 1,000 bundles of Great Lengths’ 100% human hair extensions have been donated to the Little Princess Trust.
The Little Princess Trust is the only dedicated charity to provide real hair wigs to children across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses. The charity has been accepting donations from Great Lengths since 2015, after Great Lengths extensionist and co-founder of M Hair Nottingham, James Henderson, initiated the collaboration. James noticed that the high quality hair that was being removed from his clients could be re-used as hair donations and the rest is history.
Over the past ten years, the Little Princess Trust has given away over 5,000 real hair wigs to children and with the help of Great Lengths’ donations, over 1,000 wigs are expected to be gifted to children by the end of 2017 alone.
Each and every one of Great Lengths’ 1,500 certified salons and mobile stylists are able to collect used hair extension donations from their clients for use in the specially tailored wigs that are gifted to children by the charity. The wigs feature a mix of hair from a number of donors, but recognising the ethicality, traceability and quality of Great Lengths’ extensions, we are the only hair extension brand to have this partnership with the charity.
