Congratulations to our November Hair of Fame Hero, Annabelle Harpin! This week we caught up with Annabelle to find out more about her work.
Tell us about you and your experience in the industry
I became a qualified hairdresser in 2002 where I worked in Eastbourne and Brighton, eventually opening my own business called Brightonhair. I then relocated to Leeds, joining the team at Yazz Number One Hair Studio where I was given the opportunity to use Great Lengths hair extensions in their award winning salons across Leeds.
When did you start applying hair extensions?
I completed a training course with Great lengths in 2012, which was fantastic and gave me a huge understanding of the hair extension industry. Many people now are opting for hair extensions which are becoming the must have hair accessory and training somewhere that was a reputable, established and ethical company was important to me when learning about hair extensions.
What do you love about Great Lengths?
I fell in love with the hair after wearing the extensions myself! I love the versatility, with the vast range of colours and lengths. My clients can now get the hair they have always dreamed of and seeing the happiness on their faces when I apply the extensions and the wow factor once I have finished is very important to me. It’s also a lovely feeling to work alongside a company who has a partnership with The Little Princess Trust, a charity who provide wigs for children suffering from hair loss.
What are your hair trend predications for 2017?
I think more people will opt for volume, especially on shorter hairstyles because many of my clients have been asking for this compared to the soft, natural hair we have seen in 2016. I also think we might see the return of ultra long locks but the hair industry is constantly changing so it’s exciting to see what 2017 will bring.
