Introducing the UK GL Awards 2018 winners

On Sunday 16th September, we hosted the highly anticipated 2018 UK GL Awards, crowning the winners for all eleven of this year’s categories. It was truly a night to remember and we’ve wrapped us this year’s Awards ceremony highlights below, covering everything you need to know about the evening.

Held at the prestigious Royal Armouries, Leeds, the beginning of the evening started with a cocktail reception welcoming the Great Lengths glitterati to the ceremony. This year, Yorkshire Radio Broadcaster and all round Fabulista, JOJO from Capital FM hosted the evening joining the celebrations was the Head of Great Lengths Universal, Fabio Antonino, who presented Strawberry Hair with a certificate to celebrate 25 years with the brand.

Entries for the UK GL Awards opened 1st February and we were overwhelmed with the amount of entries we received. The standard of entries was exceptional and since the closing date on 1st July, we have been working hard behind the scenes throughout the entire judging process. But the time quickly came to announce our winners and there could only be one for each category…

Following the winner’s announcements, the night continued, kicking off with ‘High on Heels’ who provided world class entertainment through their music heightened with percussion arrangements and then on to London Blogger and DJ extraordinaire Zoe London who kept the party going until the carriages arrived.

The winners of each category join previous notable award winners in the Great Lengths hall of fame and this year the prizes were even bigger than ever before.  Each UK GL Awards winner received two tickets for a group tour of the Great Lengths Head Quarters in Rome in 2019, to see first-hand the just how Great Lengths hair extensions are processed by our dedicated experts, as well as a certificate and other notable prizes to commemorate their award win.

We’d like to take this opportunity to once again thank all of the salons and stylists who entered this year’s awards and also thank the award judges who had the extremely difficult task of picking the winners. Finally, we’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the crowned winners. The quality of work we received was outstanding, and we’re proud to work with such talented stylists who form part of the Great Lengths family. Roll on 2020 when the GL Awards return to the UK.
