Great Lengths Sponsor the British Hairdressing Business Awards

Great Lengths have renewed their sponsorship of the British Hairdressing Business Awards for the Independent Salon - Business Newcomer Award

This year’s event is to be held at The Lancaster, London on Sunday 20th September 2010. To find out more or download an entry form see: www.hji.co.uk/british-hairdressing-business/

Philip Sharp, Managing Director, answers two key questions from the awards organisers:

Q1. Opening a new salon can be a daunting task – apart from having a good business head and providing high standards of hairdressing and service what additional attributes are you looking for from entrants to Independent Salon Newcomer.

For this category we are looking to find entrants that can demonstrate strong planning, budgeting and a solid strategic vision for the future success of their new salon. This includes recruiting the right hairdressing talent, research into the appropriate target market to identify the relevant range of attractive services and supply partners. From the outset they must prove their ability to have gained client trust, loyalty and commercial success.

Q2. The British Hairdressing Business Awards recognise and reward excellence in business skills and acumen and hairdressing seems to be one of the businesses that are generally untouched the recession. From your company’s view why do you think this is?

A welcoming salon environment provides the perfect sanctuary for clients wanting to take time out from the everyday stresses of modern life. Those salons offering luxury premium services such as Great Lengths are benefiting from this additional demand by increasing client loyalty and creating opportunities to increase their clients average bill.
