The Fauxhawk

Calling all shorter haired damsels in need of some serious shorter hairspiration!

We understand how hard it can be to think of a go-to style for shorter hair without getting too repetitive, after all, the ponytail can only be done in so many ways…

Luckily for you, we’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to and created a tutorial on our favourite and most versatile short hair style, the Faux-Hawk. An adaptation of the popular 90’s ‘Mohawk’ hairstyle, the difference between the two is that the Fauxhawk doesn’t require you to cut your hair! Essentially, you are pulling the hair at the sides back, and building length and volume on top (usually in a line from crown to nape) so you look like you have a sort of ‘Mohawk’ going on! Because of this adaptation, this hairstyle has grown in popularity.

To show you an example of just one of these styles, we’ve put together another of our ‘How to: Get the look’ videos on our Youtube page, so you can recreate it at home!

Before you begin you will need the following:

  • Paddle Brush
  • Bobby Pins
  • Hair Tie
  • Finishing spray like I.C.O.N. Done
